Vampire Airshows
Vampire Airshows is what happens when history, aviation and a desire to entertain meet. The “Vampire” of their name derives from their beautiful aircrafts of the De Havilland “Vampire” fighter line. Being the world's first single engine jet fighter, the Vampire was notable for achieving many historical firsts in the Jet Age, including being the first jet aircraft to launch from the deck of an aircraft carrier and the first to complete a jet-powered flight across the Atlantic Ocean. Despite being one of the first and oldest jet fighters in history, the Vampire proved to have remarkable staying power, with nations such as Switzerland employing the plane until its retirement in the 1980s. Luckily for aviation fans, restorationists and professional plane lovers such as Vampire Airshows have taken it upon themselves to save and maintain these crafts to educate and entertain crowds generation after generation.
