Air Heritage Inc.
Historic Aircraft restoration has a home in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania thanks to the Air Heritage Museum. Beginning as simply “Air Heritage” in 1983 and changing to the Air Heritage Inc. in 1990, the Museum brings history alive for the tri-state area. The vision began with the restoration of an aging L21B, a military variant of the Piper Supercub. Everything would then change when the opportunity to restore a boeing b-17 arose. In return for the volunteer labor, the plane's owner offered to build a dedicated hangar for Air Heritage. Since then the museum has worked closely with the Military Aircraft Restoration Corporation (MARC) to restore numerous aircraft from America’s martial aviation history, including vehicles such as the P-47, P-40, and many more. In 1994, the Air Heritage Museum entered into an agreement with MARC to recover and restore a Fairchild C-123k transport plane. Twenty years later ownership of the C-123, named “Thunderpig,” was transferred to the Air Heritage Museum. The museum has been featured at many airshows across the country, educating and inspiring aviation fans with their pieces of living history.
